With eco consciousness reaching an all-time high in recent years, sustainable fashion has been on the latest buzz. Quite obviously, now fashion designers are busy suggesting novel ideas to make fabrics and fashion accessories greener and more gorgeous than they were ever before. However, have you ever seen someone donning a dress made from something as unusual (green) as human hair or teeth? Enter the Apex Predator series, which seems to bring these weird yet conceivable recyclables into the realms of fashion.
Conceived and created by a creative duo at Fantich & Young, the series includes a suit and two pairs of shoes. While the high heel shoes have dentures for their soles, the bizarre suit comes covered with human hair, has small bones and glass eyes for buttons, and flaunts denture-lined collar as well.
Artists Marian Fantich and Dominic Young seem more than inspired by human ascendancy to the top of the food chain. Accordingly, the outcome, i.e. the Apex Predator is a strong statement on the bestial side of humans.
