Seeking to fetch a minimum of $5000 to bring reclaimed wood bike fenders to existence, two University of Washington Architecture graduates have started their eco campaign on Indiegogo. For some years, they have been designing and creating eco themed custom furniture at REdesign Studios. The present project, dubbed as REcycle Fender Series, further seeks to replace normally used plastic fenders with fine-looking wood fenders.
During its manufacturing process, the REcycle Fender would emit a mere 0.035 kg of carbon dioxide which is definitely less than 2.43 kg released in plastic fender production. Moreover, the wooden fenders ensure that discarded wood is being sensibly put to a better use.
Those who can donate $50 will be given t-shirt designs as a token of gratitude; a $100 donation could fetch them a limited edition set of fenders, whereas a $1000 donation will be rewarded as a gift set including a personalized set of fenders with laser-etched signature on them.
