Zhenhao Liu’s concept dustbin flaunts solar panels, LED lights

Conceived by Chinese designer Zhenhao Liu, the concept dustbin you see in the above image intends to serve the dual purpose of spreading awareness about hygiene and utilizing renewable solar energy. The concept dustbin features roof-mounted solar panels which fit nicely over LED lights along the upper periphery.

The drums have LED logos on them for making the entire contraption visible when it’s dark. While the green drum is intended to receive recyclable trash, the orange drum provides enough space for accommodating non-recyclable junk. As it’s quite obvious, the solar panels harness renewable solar energy during daytime and transfer it to LED lights for ensuring perfect visibility.

Moreover, the Concept Dustbin is supplied with a crank handle for turning over the dustbin. So, the sanitation workers don’t need to touch the dustbin; rather, what they need to do is turn the crank and shift the rubbish into the garbage truck.
