Miranda Kerr has advocated green products all her life, though she never knew that the brand, which provided her those famous wings, was using toxic chemicals in the production of lingerie. Just recently, Greenpeace’s investigation, dubbed Toxic Threads: The Big Fashion Stitch Up, included Victoria’s Secret in its list of 20 lingerie brands which were using environmentally unfriendly chemical residues in manufacturing innerwear.
Miranda currently owns organic skincare brand Kora Organics. So, the reports come in as sure eye-opener for the fashion model who may leave Victoria’s Secret if the latter ignores Greenpeace’s campaign. Greenpeace earlier reported that the chemicals used in Victoria’s Secret lingerie are carcinogenic and cause water pollution as well.
Earlier, in 2008, women, who wore Victoria’s Secret bras reported rashes and scarring, attributable (?) to formaldehyde. However, this time, Greenpeace highlights the presence of high levels of phthalates in the fashion brand’s garments.
