Metro Lighting crafts lamps and fixtures using recycled trash 1

Creatives at Metro Lighting have been creating lamps and fixtures from recycled stuff at their shop in Berkeley for more than 20 years now. However, since now they need more exposure rather than confining their green art to California alone, they’ve started a fundraising campaign at Kickstarter to attract more customers, streamline their process and reduce breakage. Once they succeed in garnering the sought support, they further plan to buy equipment which could help them transform used cardboard boxes into packing materials.

Recently, the art collaborative came up with modern lamps and fixtures made from recycled glass shades and solid brass components. For creating their products, they utilize solar power at their factory to produce handcrafted, locally designed lamps and fixtures. Metro Lighting proposes to manufacture pendants which will come supplied with 5 foot cords. However, would-be customers will need to attach light bulbs themselves or purchase them through Metro Lighting. Those who pledge to donate $25 or more will be given a Limited Edition Metro Lighting t-shirt as a token of appreciation.
