Environment ministers from the Group of Eight (G8) industrialized nations are currently now in Germany with two major issues in their agenda –
* how to reduce emission of greenhouse gas,
* how to replace the Kyoto Protocol.
The key developing nations realize their responsibility to address the issue and discuss the problem of climate change in the two-day meeting in Potsdam.
Ministers from India, Brazil, China, Mexico and South Africa will be attending the talks.
German Environment Minister Sigmar Gabriel said,
We must guard against giving developing nations the impression that the developing world expects them to carry our share of the burden. We are going to speak about the barriers that have until now held back international climate change negotiations and how to break them.
