Daniel Arsham creates amazing sculptures from shattered glass

If Hurricane Sandy was an expression of nature’s wrath, we seriously need to remember similar devastation caused by past hurricanes that shook the world with their enormity. Some artists, however, see art emanating from such commotions. New York-based Daniel Arsham is one such artist who seeks to wipe the memories of a similar hurricane, i.e. Hurricane Andrew from his mind through his glass sculptures. Made entirely from shattered glass, the series of sculptures is made from glass shards.

After witnessing first hand the dramatic and destructive force of nature, I was inspired to transform the devastating energy I observed in the storm and reform it to a new and imaginative purpose.

The amazing works of art further combine his craftsmanship with an universal cause. The human-shaped sculptures depict the ephemeral nature of human lives.
