Peru's flight-ban over Inca ruins relieve its rare animals and plants

The outcries of the environmental groups are finally heard. The low-flying helicopter tourism tours over Peru’s biggest tourist attraction — the Inca ruins of Machu Picchu – have been severely affecting a number of rare animals and plants.

The world heritage site, rediscovered in 1911, provoked and enraged environmentalists to protest. And lastly, apparently as a respond to the protests, the Peruvian government has reversed a decision of allowing flights

over the Inca ruins.

Peru’s Transport and Communications ministry has declared the area around the site a no-fly zone.
