20,000 Volunteers Clean Italian Riverbanks

Good news for people planning to visit and enjoy the beauty of a river from its bank in Italy. The river 2005 campaign geared up with their operation to clean the big rivers like Arno, Tevere and Po. The magnanimous Legambiente and Rescue Service organized the operation to prevent hydro-geological risks. Over 20,000 volunteers clean riverbanks across Rome in Maserada, Venezia, Turbigo, Milano, Lavagna, Genova, Ascoli e Perugia in over 300 places. They are collecting tons of materials and waste. There are too many dumps long the banks and too many abusive buildings. The organization seems to be working in a concrete way.
