UK drivers need to be fuel-efficient to get a driving-license

Living in Britain, if you don’t have a driving license yet, then here is an important information for you! Proving that you are good driver will just be not enough in future! You will have to show that you can be responsible as well towards the environment, i.e. save fuel effectively.

It is from 2008, fuel efficiency, or you can better call it eco-driving, is to be made part of the driving test to help cut polluting emissions, save money on bills and make driving safer, the British government informed.

As part of the practical exam, a learner driver will be guided on issues such as accelerating and braking less strongly and changing gears sooner and be assessed on their abilities. Schemes to train truck and van drivers in using less fuel have already been launched by the government. And a government agency, the Energy Saving Trust would like to promote eco-driving more widely.
