Restrict industry pollution to combat climate change

Five companies in Britain generate much more carbon dioxide pollution that all the UK road motorists put together. New figures revealing contribution of heavy industry to climate change found this.

To meet these disastrous emissions, tighter restrictions on corporate pollution are needed. Efforts and innitiatives by individuals and households are of no use unless greater actions at the industry are taken.

The giant Drax power station in North Yorkshire is not only the largest in Europe, but also the single biggest polluting site in the UK. Thus, even a 1% increase in its efficiency would be equal to saving typical carbon emissions of 21,000 households! Do you know, it is Drax alone, which produced 20.8m tonnes of carbon dioxide last year?
