KyotoPotato is a web 2.0 energy saving game. The goal is to get as many credits in your portfolio as possible, to do this you must reduce the amount of idle time your computer creates and trade credits rewarded wisely on the KyotoPotato idle exchange.
KyotoPotato aims to make energy efficiency fun by getting users to switch off their computer at night and any other times they are not using it.
To use the KyotoPotato system you must install an application which records the time you are using your computer and the times you have left it switched on and are not using it. Idle time, the time you are not using your computer goes against you and decreases the amount of credits you get for trading.
The software is unobtrusive and sits in your tray bar and is activated by clicking on the icon. Right clicking will bring up a menu which allows you to quit the application. You can run the application on more than one computer with the same login and password. All computers will be linked to your account.
