These pictures are of a huge dust storm. It swept across the Arizona Valley Tuesday afternoon. This early evening dust storm followed thunderstorms that kicked up throughout the state driving strong winds out in front of them.
The huge wall of dust stretched from Apache Junction to Avondale. It preceded a storm dropping a quarter-inch of much needed rain in Tucson, giving it the day’s record of rainfall.
With the dust wall rolling through the region, the temperature there dropped 25 degrees in just 90 minutes! It dropped from the day’s high of 101 to the day’s low of 76.
