Greenhouse gases effect climate less than thought: Study finds

greenhouse gas emission

Scientists have feared for long that greenhouse gas pollution can warm earth’s climate by at least several degrees. But, here is a new finding that can relieve your nerves of this trepidation to an extent. Scientists are saying that the climate is not as sensitive to greenhouse gases as some scientists have feared previously.

Gabriele Hegerl, a climate scientist at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina explained that climate sensitivity is a measure of how much the global temperature will warm, while responding to greenhouse gas emissions. And it is the measure that specifically estimates ‘how the climate might respond to a doubling of the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere’.
