Air quality in Washington State seems to be deteriorating. What are the caused behind them? Ironically or scientifically it is Asia and Siberia. Scientists claim that Asian power plants’ pollution and burning Siberian forests’ smoke are the culprits behind this deteriorating air quality.
Though the researchers claim that most of this pollution is generated locally, they blame Asia for some problems like mercury contamination in lake fish or the haze that rings Mount Rainier. To gauge how serious the problem is, Dan Jaffe, an atmospheric chemist at the University of Washington’s Bothell campus is putting all his efforts to find for international pollution.
