Experts at the Alaska Volcano Observatory fear that an eruption from the vents on Alaska’s Fourpeaked Mountain, which have been spewing volcanic gases, is possible in the coming days to weeks.
It is predicted that the explosive eruption could throw out ash plumes exceeding 33,000 feet above sea level! It could be dangerous with lava flows, or it could be nothing.
But, if or when an eruption will occur is hard to predict, Peter Cervelli, a geophysicist for the U.S. Geological Survey and the observatory said. He also said that ‘but, nothing is imminent.’
