There are several endangered species that go unprotected, and eventually disappear. On these lines, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will review the status of 70 animals and plants.
If these species need protection under the federal Endangered Species Act, the agency will determine. With the majority of the species found in Hawaii, some are also found in Oregon, Idaho, Washington and Guam. The woodland caribou is the best known species. It is found in a small area along the Washington-Idaho border.
This review is conducted every five years in a routine. And if you want to inform anything on the concerned topic, you can submit all your comments until June 11.
The species to be reviewed include:
* four fish,
* three snails,
* six birds,
* 56 plants and
* one mammal.
