The ice storms that may lush the planet in future, may largely damage, especially, the commercially important loblolly pine trees. And, this may lead to a huge economic loss. But, what is the solution against the loss? — increased levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere! This is what a new study claims.

Researchers carrying out an outdoor test facility at the Duke University found that loblolly pines growing under carbon-dioxide levels mimicking those predicted for the year 2050, which is roughly one and a half times today’s levels, could face somewhat in a better way during and after a major ice storm that hit the area, compared to the loblollies that are growing under current concentrations of the gas.

This finding eventually left the scientists surprised!
