550 Idaho gray wolf called for killing to save multimillion-dollar hunting industry!

The gray wolves of Idaho are literally endangered by the region’s public! The state’s governor will be supporting public hunts for killing all but 100 of the state’s gray wolves! But, what are their crimes? – Not being stayed protected under the Endangered Species Act’s protection?! Or, because the federal government has stripped them of the list?!

According to The Associated Press, Gov. C.L. “Butch” Otter said that he wants hunters to kill about 550 gray wolves, leaving about 100 wolves (10 packs) as a population estimate being made by state wildlife officials.

During a rally of about 300 hunters, Otter said on Thursday,

I’m prepared to bid for that first ticket to shoot a wolf myself.

Despite Otter’s justification of the decision — that the wolves are rapidly killing elk and other animals essential to Idaho’s multimillion-dollar hunting industry — Suzanne Stone, a spokeswoman for the advocacy group Defenders of Wildlife in Boise, rightly said against Otter’s proposal that it would return wolves to the verge of eradication!

Stone said,

Essentially he has confirmed our worst fears for the state of Idaho: That this would be a political rather than a biological management of the wolf population.

It is all money talk! Think if one day humans will be killed based on similar justifications in regions where democracy is absent!
