The recent anti-rabies brutal drive by China has already slaughtered 50,000 dogs! Is this how one dilutes fears of disease outbreak or control death by killing? Lives are lives – be it of a dog or a man! To save one man, you kill 10 dogs, just because you have weapons and they are defenceless?
Reportedly, the dogs were killed by clubbing their heads brutally. With a bit of brain-storming and tracing back your memories, let me know if any mass killing of humans have occurred this way — based on the suspicion of carrying a dangerous disease!?
Looking at all the animal-borne disease outbreaks in recent years – be it SARS, Bird Flu or Mad cow disease, do any incident of killing humans for the cause been reported? We are humane (the word itself is spelled conveniently, as if meant only foe humans) after all!! But, we are conveniently following the worse side of the theory of ‘Survival of the Fittest’ by slaughtering these poor, defenceless, unfortunate animals?
These animals, which have committed no crime or sin, need to die with painless, if they really need to. I know these might kick up lots of controversies, but the technology-boasting scientists must also find a way to kill the diseased animals painlessly and quickly in mass numbers — if that cries out to be the ultimate need.
