Wolf Number Rising in the Rockies… Is Livestock in Jeopardy?

Good news for the environmentalists and animal lovers. Want to watch an assemblage of gray wolves? It’s the Northern Rockies, where you can spot them wandering or relaxing in their peaceful gestures. They have increased to a larger community of more than 900 since last year, as the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service have estimated. Once virtually wiped out in the Lower 48 states to protect livestock, 912 wolves now romp the three-state region, compared to 835 in December, according to the agency. A decade ago, they were reintroduced in the Northern Rockies, and their number went on increasing, meeting the government’s recovery targets by 2002. But, their increasing numbers are continuously jeopardizing the livestock. Will the Government again go back to the square one and start killing them to save the livestock, or draw a balance to let both survive…?
