What moved the spider-eating wasp into Britain? Climate change?

spider eating waspScientists in Britain has for the first time witnessed a rare Mediterranean wasp there. Named Episyron gallicum, this wasp seeks spiders that hunt their prey on the ground. The wasp was found breeding in a quarry. It is maintained as a custom-built habitat for rare insects, as The London Telegraph reported Wednesday. It is next to the headquarters of the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, this quarry is located.

The scientists are surprised to find the wasp there, as the insect has never been reported closer to Britain than France. But, what brought it there? Is it the increasingly warmer climate that may be promoting a change in its habitat?
