Warm Europe making birds delay migration and fly less far!

The still mild weather of European has kept some birds from flying south for the winter. The weather luring the birds to keep enjoying its mildness even at this time of the year has made scientists link it to global warming!

Birds like robins, thrushes and ducks were seen to have flown south only this December, which is long after snow usually drives them south from Scandinavia. The Siberian swans have also been found reaching western Europe late.

With Europe just having the warmest autumn in 500 years, the birds are enjoying the balmy winter and the frosts have crept south in the past week. Grahame Madge, spokesman of the British Royal Society for the Protection of Birds said,

With increasing warmth in winter we suspect that some types of birds won’t bother to migrate at all.

This whole phenomenon is making many individual birds leave later, and fly less far.
