Trans-Layers: Art installation crafted from repurposed toilet rolls

Created by Turkish artist Sakir Gökçebağ, the Trans-Layers series of art installations illustrate how trivial household items could attain sculptural dimensions. Crafted from hundreds of toilet rolls, the paper installations were recently displayed at a German gallery. The paper installations lend a sure element of grace to walls and plinths they sprawl across or hang from and hence, produce a visually appealing design.

The Hamburg-based artist believes in beautifying normal objects into something adorable. Currently preparing for a solo exhibition in Berlin, Sakir has been creating such art sculptures since early nineties. His previous exhibitions included sculptures made from unconventional materials like discarded coat hangers, old brooms and broken umbrellas.
