Considering the fact that we need to cut trees to mass-produce paper in order to meet our stationery-related requirements, it’s but imperative to reuse paper and seek ways that could help us do so. Accordingly, Toshiba Tec has come up with a copier system that allows users to rub out printed documents. Dubbed as Loops, the copy machine converts printed documents into blank sheets of paper which users can reuse later on.
With its erasing capability of 30 sheets per minute, the system is 80 percent more efficient than the standard copy machines when it comes to save paper. According to ABC NEWS, the copier system contains a special toner that uses erasable ink. Another machine relies on heat to wipe the paper clean. Since the users can reuse each sheet up to five times, the machine promises to bring down the carbon dioxide emissions by nearly 60 percent.
Planning to sell it for 1.41 million yen or more than $17,000 to Japanese customers next February, Toshiba Tec will start shipping Loops copier system worldwide in May next year.
