Tiny aerosols, soot giving more frequent and stronger winter cyclones to western US

winter cyclone in us 9

The winter cyclones are picking up arms to build their added punches. The tiny aerosols and soot being picked up from burning wood and coal by the cyclones appear to be seeding clouds in large winter storms capable of churning thousands of miles east across the northern Pacific, according to a US scientist-team. And this is happening especially in China.

And hence, the pollution turning relatively routine marine rain clouds into towering thunderheads, is building concerns of air pollution over the western US from Asia.

Tracking wind speeds and atmospheric pressure, studies made earlier have shown that during the 20th century’s last half, northern Pacific winter storms have become more frequent and stronger steadily.

And, the ill winds moving out of Asia are adding strength to the cloud-types, these stronger winter cyclones carry, according to the latest results published last week.
