I suppose water logging irritates all. And they rarely provide anything more constructive than destructive. But, in a season of stormy weather and floods, the University of New Hampshire (UNH) has been studying the runoff that flows off parking lots, roads and lawns, which is the chief source of water pollution in the country. The UNH has added to the scientific data to compare how various treatment techniques work when conditions are controlled so they’re the same from one to the next. The most common approach to treating rain or storm-water runoff, as we know, is the retention ponds and gullies lined with gravel. But, researchers blame them to be the least effective factors in preventing pollution. Pollutants from a variety of unknown sources contaminate the water from storms and flooding, and the Stormwater Center of UNH is precisely working to solve this problem.
