Peter McFarlane creates re-contextualized forms out of discarded industrial waste 7

While most of us won’t ever understand the self-engendering creative capability of discarded stuff lying around us, Canadian sculptor, mixed media and installation artist Peter McFarlane is gifted enough to perceive the hidden potential of such forlorn objects. McFarlane sees unlimited potential in almost all objects which inspires him to use them to create and re-make amazing metal work. Through his patience, art and vision, he transforms stuff like chainsaws, spoons and saw blades into something as amazing as birds, whales, bird nests, farming gear and so on.

McFarlane gathers most of his material from trash bins and thrift shops. Discarded things motivate the artist to think of myriad ways to elevate them to artistic heights. Thanks to his eco vision, he creates remarkable collages and figures which take their inspiration from industrial society. The artist disdains the idea of labeling anything as waste; contrarily, he presses the need for utilizing it sensibly.
