Paper Pot: Origami-inspired packaging contains seeds awaiting germination

Paper Pot Origami-inspired packaging contains seeds awaiting germination 1

Conceived by Canadian design student Sophie Pepin, the Paper Pot is a remarkable, origami-inspired packaging solution that urges users to grow their own spices and veggies. For doing so, they simply need to detach rectangular, square paper pieces, plant them wherever they want to and water them when needed.

Sophie’s biodegradable design received tremendous appreciation at an environmental design award competition in Paris, France, since it seeks to provide a sensible solution to packaging waste that, otherwise, would land up in landfills and keep polluting the environs.

The paper tablets, which collectively form this unique, origami-inspired packaging, contain various seeds awaiting germination. When you plant them at a proper location, the seeds germinate in no time; thus, adding yet another, strikingly green dimension to useless packaging waste. As you can see in the image above, each Paper Pot sheet features visual, printed instructions on how to fold the paper and sow the seeds, which makes it easier for users who’ve never done farming before.
