The New Zealand government will be unveiling the changes in its climate change policy soon. It is last year; the carbon tax has been scrapped. Since, in December when the government announced of it’s not introducing the controversial carbon tax, it has been planning up other ways to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The options that is under considered is that tax on the big power users would be tightened, and better incentives would be created for investment in renewable power.

According to some industry sources, an announcement could be made as early as this week. But, for a detailed policy to emerge, it will take time, informed the council’s chief executive, Peter Neilson.
