Mysterious Disease Plaguing Oceans

dead sea lions

Two sea lions were treated for a powerful form of brain poisoning and survived. They were lucky as they took wrong turns, one at San Francisco International Airport, and another in the Pacific Ocean and found its way into California’s Central Valley, and got treated.

But, for hundreds of other sea lions luck did not favor them and have died. And thus they joined a short list of ocean animals that are succumbing to strange diseases! Can we blame the “red tide” for this merciless phenomenon? — As in Florida, hundreds of manatees have died from an airborne toxin produced by the tide.

We may not utter, but know the world’s oceans are sicker than usual. These deaths are the evidences of the fact that the ocean is changing. What is to be blamed? — Human interference?! What ever the reply is, the evolving diseases are putting both sea animals and humans at risk.
