Mexico seems to have tugged up its shoes to drastically improve air quality by cutting fuel emissions. IT plans to reduce sulfur emissions by 50 percent before 2020. And for this, it has launched an ambitious plan, as informed by the environment secretary. Jose Luis Luege Tamargo’s department has signed an agreement with the environment and finance departments on this.

But, how did it plan to go about to meet its goal? It is in July, the restrictions on sulfur emissions and small particles will go into effect. And it will be gradually expanded each year until 2009, Luege said. He claimed the limits to be among “the strictest in the world.” Hope the high ambitions of the Mexican Government be successful, providing a model to other countries.
