Has the time for the 8-year-old daughter to step into father’s shoes really come? Perhaps not yet being able to overcome the sudden shock of losing her father at this tender age, Bindi – the daughter of the ‘Crocodile Hunter’ Steve Irwin, killed by a stingray – is preparing to meet the world’s expectations from her being a daughter of a famous father.

Her working title will be ‘Bindi, the Jungle Girl.’ Don’t know, how well and voluntarily Bindi is taking up her independent profession, but, it is surely kicking up a debate about whether the youngster is being exploited!

A spokeswoman for Discovery, Annie Howell informed that the wildlife documentary started several months ago with both Irwin and his daughter in it. Seems to be talking in the lines of business, he further says that the show would include scenes between the youngster and her father — the exuberant, khaki-clad Australian naturalist. Can we take it as the USP he is try to put forward for the show?

australia september 20 2006 9According to Howell’s information, it seems Irwin’s U.S.-born wife Terri too wants her little daughter – still completely unaware of her future responsibilities – to be thrown in the spotlight, too early to let even the dreadful memories of her father’s death fade away!

Australian politician, Sen. Bill Heffernan has ‘rightly’ told colleagues in a private meeting in Canberra that he feared the youngster would not be allowed to grow up normally! Is it the blessings of being the daughter of a famous father to come to the spotlight easily, or the curse of having to lose her childhood to live up to her father’s dreams?!

Whatever be it, I wish all the best to the little father-less daughter, Bindi Irwin for all her endeavors!
