Great Lakes States Anticipates Asian Carp

If the Asian carp maintains or destroys the ecosystem is still a question. But, following a north-south fish fight, the Congress demands a ban in imports of Asian carp, a bearcat that fish farmers of the south depend on to control parasites. Officials of Great Lakes states fear that the snail eating critter will wreak havoc on the lakes’ ecosystems. The voracious species is being imported to US from China in states including Arkansas and Mississippi. Escaping the farms, some of these invertebrates have swam north along the Mississippi to knock on the Great lakes door. In the south of Chicago, an electric barrier is being used to prevent their entering Lake Michigan. The Congress is awaiting ban on its imports.
