Government to Fund Solar Energy Projects in Yorkshire

Many countries across the globe are trying hard to combat carbon emissions and global warming. And for this, individual countries have taken up various eco-friendly schemes. The Government too turned concerned towards the Yorkshire environmental schemes. It has decided to help fund solar energy schemes here. Tens of thousands of pounds have been awarded under the Department of Trade and Industry, to Harrogate and Kirklees councils and the University of Leeds for four projects on solar energy. Because of the commercially sensitive nature of the projects, the exact amounts have not been disclosed. Energy Minister Malcolm Wicks suggests individuals, communities and businesses to use alternative source of energy for tackling climate change. He asked to install micro-generation products such as micro-turbines, solar panels and air source heat pumps. He seems confident that once these two projects along with the one at Leeds become more widespread, they can help to teach this and future generations about the benefits of renewable energy and the need to use our resources more responsibly.
