Global Warming Admonishes Africa

The world’s poorest continent is severely threatened with the aftermaths of global warming. Catastrophic endemics, ruined crops, or a cataclysmic mass extinction of Africa’s legendary wildlife ‘ devastation may come in any form and lush the continent’s vulnerable habitats. But, the problem lies with the fact that the nation is not equipped enough to face the threat.

The surface temperatures have increased by about 1 degree Fahrenheit in the 20th century — the largest increase in 1,000 years, as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change informs. It has been recorded that 1998 was the warmest year and feared 2005 could be even hotter. As long as carbon dioxide from burning fossil fuels and other gases keep building up in the atmosphere, the trend will continue by trapping heat like a greenhouse, according to climate experts.
