Fuel from Poultry Waste

Poultry wastes have always been a great irritation. It is every day’s bother for the poultry farmers. Are you planning to open up a farm that is run by steam-based energy? Is your pocket preventing you to start with? Don’t worry. Just store your poultry litters, and wait to mint on it. Engineers have gone innovate to provide a solution to this. A collaborative environmental engineering project has claimed to transform chicken litter into a renewable steam-based energy source. It is expected to be online on the Eastern Shore by next September. Allen’s Hatchery, Inc., and JCR Enterprises of Seaford last week announced the signing of a definitive agreement with Georgia-based Engineering to construct a steam generation facility that will use poultry litter as its primary source of fuel. It is estimated that the project will utilize more than 12,000 tons of poultry litter per year, producing approximately 15 percent of JCR’s base steam demand. Construction is scheduled to begin this fall with an expected completion date of September 2006.
