Not just another floating wall shelf you see every so often, the Ethnie wall shelf promises to offer a minimalist, yet stunning storage solution. Conceived and created by Celine Coutard, a French-based designer, the versatile and extremely flexible piece of furniture is made from wooden trashes.

The free flowing shelf was custom-built for Millet, a company that specializes in making wooden windows and replacing frayed windows with newer ones. Creatives at Millet retrieve an amount of wooden trashes while they install new windows. The designer, i.e. Celine Coutard utilized this trashed wood to create the Ethnie wall shelf. She did so by cutting the trashed wood into small brackets and later, assembling those brackets using glue and fabric. While the shelf is rigid when fabric is on the other side, it becomes extremely flexible with the fabric being on the same side.

Undeniably, it’s an inspiring, eco themed piece of furniture. What do you say?
