Global Warming taking horrendous shape: Alps warmest in 1,300 years

alps in global warmth 65

Every body believes recent years of unusual warmth are linked to human activities and global warming. And now it is showing its cruel face in one of the worlds most beautiful ski resorts. Temperatures have been way above average at the start of the winter in the northern hemisphere and if it continues in coming decades, global warming could be the death knell of many low ski resorts .

Though Europe’s Alpine region is going through its warmest period but the most striking feature of this warmest period is that this is happening for the first time in 1,300 years.

The current warm period in the Alpine region began in the 1980s, noting that a similar warming occurred in the 10th and 12th centuries. However, the temperatures during those phases were slightly under the temperatures Alpine have experienced over the past 20 years.

The subject of global warming arouses strong emotions. Whatever the causes, the ski industry will be hit very badly in the Alps.Residents are extremely concerned about the affects climate change will have on their business.

But it is not only tourism that is suffering along with several ski World Cup races have been cancelled in the Alps due to lack of snow but the mild temperatures have led to flowers blooming on the slopes and trees shedding their leaves later than normal creating problems to the people suffering from asthma.

Thanks to Global Warming the dangers of Skiing are getting low!
