Does the Pacific quake hitting near Vanuatu risks a tsunami?!

pacific quake hits near vanuatu

An earthquake struck the Pacific Ocean off Vanuatu with magnitude 6.7 today, according to the US Geological Survey. Centered deep below the earth’s crust, the quake was registered 75km (45 miles) from the country’s largest island at 0918 (2218GMT Monday).

But, there is no need for creating a panic, as experts assure that this tremor did not raise the risk of creating a tsunami, though there is reportedly some risk of coastal towns being effected with some of them only 80km (50 miles) from the epicenter of the quake!
