Cloning mammoths! Yes, that is what disgraced scientist Hwang Woo-suk claimed to be doing with the part of the money he has been charged to have spent for personal use or embezzlement. But, he says he has failed attempts to clone mammoths and the money went wasted.
Hwang testified,
Not a single penny was spent for personal use… We made stem cells, although they are not human,
in his trial at the third hearing on charges of misappropriating funds and embezzlement. He was also charged for illegally purchasing human eggs for research.
The next trial hearing of Hwang Woo-suk was scheduled for September 19.
