By composting our organic food waste, we can produce nutrient rich plant food for our homegrown plants. However, the rotting smell emanating from those home-composting systems repels most homeowners from installing them at their homes. While most of us would prefer placing the composter in our backyard rather than on our desktop or any other place in our living room, Brazilian designer Marcos Rodrigues thinks otherwise and, accordingly, he has come up with the COMCA concept composter-cum-planter, which you won’t mind placing in your balcony, terrace or living room.

The COMCA composter-cum-plater flaunts a cubical shape and a neatly designed, bracketed body. The topmost chamber contains a plant pot and a water container. Perforations in water container’s base allow excess water to seep into the next chamber that contains organic waste. Here, in the organic waste chamber, the organic material decomposes itself into fertilizer, which can be extracted from the bottom chamber. The decomposed stuff can further be used as a nutrient rich plant food.
