China's flood death toll rises to 88, effecting 2.3 million people

After the tropical storm Bilis hit across China, the disastrous rainstorms and flooding by now, has increased the death toll to 88, according to state media. With at least 2.3 million people affected by rainstorms and floods, across the province millions were forced to evacuate, as the torrential rain hits Fujian, Hunan, Guangdong, Jiangxi and Zhejiang provinces.

The Xinhua news agency reported 78 people confirmed dead in the central province of Hunan. More than 100 people were still missing here.

The Chenzhou city alone witnessed more than 70 deaths in the province. It is here 190,000 people had to be evacuated. About 5.47 million people were trapped by floods initially, but had since been rescued.
