Calif. heat wave deaths rise to at least 56!

heat wave broils much of california

California enters the 11th day today with the 100-degree heat resulting to the number of suspected heat-related deaths increased to at least 56! And to add to the nemesis of the climate, one can’t take the eyes off, from the terrifying views of the thousands of rotting carcasses of dairy cows and other livestock, getting baked in the sun.

Most of the deaths occurred in the Central Valley — here temperatures hovered between 100 and 105 degrees Tuesday, which is down from 110 to 115 in previous days.

With the record-breaking temperatures straining the transmission equipment, leading to their failure, some communities entered their third day living without electricity. Until Wednesday, the weather does not seem to get cooler — when the system was forecast to move east into Nevada and Utah. So, Nevada and Utah habitants — be prepared!
