Brazilian fast food chain intros absolutely eatable paper wrappers

Can’t remember exactly how many times thus far, but hunger pangs have compelled me to chew up those annoying cellophanes on quite a few occasions. Not anymore since folks at Brazilian fast food chain Bob’s have been promoting a novel food packaging – burger wrappers, to be specific – that you can eat right away. Developed by researchers at Harvard School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the edible wrappers are made from WikiCells, which can be used for wrapping, bottling or packaging food.

The edible paper wrappers acquire the flavor of packaged eatables and so, taste good. Appearance wise, they look similar to those you’ve been using till date. If we believe Bob’s customers, the edible wrappers don’t taste bad at all, so you won’t throw any of those edible wrappers for sure.

Moreover, considering the fact that the US consumers discarded more than 75 million tons of packaging waste in 2010 alone, the edible wrappers come in as great news for all.
