Beaches and Oceans have no respite from plastic litter

Despite many efforts, plastic bits are still rampant on the beaches and can be found easily floating on the ocean surface.

According to a report by United Nations Environmental Program, an average of 46,000 pieces of plastic debris, found frequently either floating or suspended on the beaches, every square mile of ocean.

Further, the report suggests that almost seventy percent of total litter usually sink to the bottom of the sea but rest 30 percent keep floating for an indefinite period. In fact, these tiny plastics are very harmful for the living beings in the ocean and for the sea bird. Evidently, many tiny plastic pieces have been found in the digestive system of the Dead Sea birds such as albatross.
