Argentina: One of the largest plant-eating dinosaurs discovered

giant dinosaur discovered in argentina

One of the largest dinosaurs ever to roam the Earth once romped Argentina’s Santa Cruz Province, located in the country’s southern Patagonia region. Gigantic neck, back, and tail bones of it are discovered by Argentinean scientists here.

The newly discovered species is one of the groups of plant-eating sauropod dinosaurs – titanosaurs. Known for their long necks and tails, it walked on four feet. Compared to smaller, better-known titanosaurs, the new find was 115 to 131 feet (35 to 40 meters) long, weighing between 88 and 110 tons (80 and 100 metric tons), according to paleontologists.
