Artists would do anything to fetch your attention. Well, if you think we mean to scoff at their efforts, you’re definitely on the wrong page. Rather, what we wish to emphasize is the amount of ingenuity and dedication they aspire to bring to the art scene through their unusual yet imaginative art. Anna Sophia Matveeva, a Ukrainian artist, with her intent to suggest a novel art form, utilizes used chewing gums to create her celeb portraits.

While most of us won’t ever touch discarded, chewed gums, the Ukrainian artist doesn’t find doing it as disgusting. She created the portrait of Apple founder Steve Jobs by using over 1,000 pieces of chewed gum, thanks to her husband, relatives and friends who condescended to donate chewed gums to the artist. Anna places every single piece of chewing gums with her bare hands. Thus far, Anna has created five chewing gum portraits and now, she plans to add six more to her collection soon. The artist further plans to showcase her chewing gum art at an art gallery in Donetsk, Ukraine, where she wish to sell them all.

As Oddity Central notes it, Steve Job’s portrait is priced at 8,000 hryvna ($1,000), a fair price, according to the artist, who says the gum and canvas alone cost 1,000 hryvna ($125).
