Recycled Art: Canadian artist creates Maypole sculpture using black paper, foam

Canadian artist creates Maypole sculpture using black paper, foam

Blame it on our busy schedules, those rigorous deadlines or the ever-rising expectations, we can’t take time out of our responsibilities to remember our childhood pleasures and replicate the same into our daily routines. While it’s something too much to expect from most of us, a Canadian artist, however, reproduces his childhood memories via his inspirational paper installation. Kristi Malakoff created the sculpture, which depicts kids bopping around a traditional Maypole, utilizing black paper and foam.

The full-scale art sculpture is an expression of Malakoff’s intention to recall those carefree days. Appearance wise, the art sculpture demonstrates children taking part in May Day celebrations. Wholly hand-crafted, the mega sculpture is sure to take you down the memory lanes.
