Photosynthesis Suggests Ways to Absorb and Transform Solar Energy

photosynthesis

We all have studied that the catalysis process of plants moves through four processes. But, in the process of meeting our unaccomplished dreams of using sunlight to power our homes and offices, researchers from Freie Universitat Berlin, have confirmed the existence of a fifth step in the catalysis process. It is the process to convert water into oxygen.

The study of photosynthesis in plants could provide new clues by explaining how they absorb almost 100% of the sunlight reaching them, and how they transform it into other forms of energy. To meet the still inefficient technology for a better use of solar energy, researchers used the X-ray source of the European Synchrotron Radiation Facility (ESRF) to investigate the kinetics of the photosynthesis process.
